7/1/2023 0 Comments Minitube ubuntu![]() Not sure if it fits your requirements but I've used MiniTube which is pretty decent. In regards to alternative Youtube clients. YouTube confirms that it has removed the “sort by oldest/newest” option.I of course am using librariers/etc from your ppa that did allow me to make version 3.1 without error. (or of course idea for why I can't make). Mc4man, if you are able to successfully package it for your ppa, I'd love to try it. Makefile:2241: recipe for target 'build/obj/ytvideo.o' failed Src/ytvideo.cpp:109:48: error: no match for ‘operator’ (operand types are ‘const QJsonValue’ and ‘const char ’) Src/ytvideo.cpp:107:41: error: no match for ‘operator’ (operand types are ‘const QJsonValue’ and ‘const char ’) Src/ytvideo.cpp:106:38: error: no match for ‘operator’ (operand types are ‘const QJsonValue’ and ‘const char ’) YTVideo::YTVideo(const QString &videoId, QObject *parent) Src/ytvideo.cpp:19:1: warning: when initialized here Src/ytvideo.h:38:10: warning: ‘bool YTVideo::loadingStreamUrl’ Src/ytvideo.h:40:10: warning: ‘YTVideo::ageGate’ will be initialized after Src/ytvideo.h: In constructor ‘YTVideo::YTVideo(const QString&, QObject*)’: In file included from src/ytvideo.cpp:1:0: Both machines cannot make tho, get error about operator. Hoping it might solve my video problem on one machine and possibly even segfault on the other, I tried to make it. I saw minitube 3.2 was released, with bugfixes for video issues. You may be able to use smtube, best from the smplayer ppa, benefits a little setup. Not sure why they bother to still have in ppa. That does seem the case, the xorg-video-abi that 18.04 is now using (release or HWE) isn't supported. Recommends: libcuda1-304 but it is not going to be installedĮ: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Yes, but it's not installable from that ppa. I guess it's not a install issue anymore apt-cache policy libavcodec-dev libavcodec58 libmpv-devĥ00 bionic-updates/universe i386 Packagesĥ00 bionic-security/universe i386 Packagesĥ00 bionic/universe i386 apt-cache policy libavcodec-dev libavcodec58 libmpv-dev I can tell from that my machine 1 still has stuff from cosmic sources, so I'll get that sorted out and make again, apt-cache policy libc6īut machine2 was never frankenbuntu'd and still has a video issue. For the heck of it I also tried version 2.9-1_b from debian buster and that runs without crashing, but it has the same issue as the one from ubuntu repos. However, when I execute, I get the initial search screen, then segfault.įor further experimentation, since I now have the necessary libs installed, I installed minitube3.1-1_b from debian sid, and it does the exact same thing as the one I built, intro screen then segfault. ![]() So I cheated - I changed bionic to cosmic in my apt sources.list to sudo apt install libmpv-dev (then restored sources file back to bionic). It requires libmpv-dev version 29, which has a whole bunch of other dependencies (as I first just tried installing that manually) not in bionic repos. So I tried to build 3.1 myself on 32-bit 18.04 base. Official Minitube website only has 3.1 as 64-bit deb for Ubuntu 18.10. Ubuntu bionic repos have 2.5.2 or something old. ![]() Recently it quit working, showing search results but not actual playing videos, and research online tells me I need version 3.1 to solve this. I use minitube on my pentium 4 as it supports 720p (whereas browser too slow) and has easy to use interface for my kids. ![]()
